MCC Words app for iPhone and iPad

MCC Words is designed to help teachers, parents, and caregivers teach a child how to read.

High-frequency words are the most commonly used words in printed text and over 50 percent of all text is composed of them. Because many are phonetically irregular, tend to be abstract, and have limited visual correspondence, students must memorise them to read quickly and fluently.

This app contains a collection of 282 common English words that a child can use to build a vocabulary. The words are written in Victorian Modern Cursive font so they are similar to how they would be written in the classroom.

MCC Words also uses Text-To-Speech technology to allow children to autonomously verify pronunciation.
